NSF International Wins Best Work Placement Provider Award From the University of West England March 22, 2018 NSF International has won the University of the West of England (UWE), Bristol’s award for Best Work Placement Provider. The program, headed by NSF’s South West Team Manager Lindsey Holmes, provides UWE Bristol environmental health students with practical experience and training. Lindsey will receive the award on behalf of NSF on April 18. Five students shadowed our safety advisors (Holmes, Michelle Knott, David Watts, Brian Goodwin, Phil Makanda and Taye Oyekunle) for two weeks in January and February to grow their skills, experience and understanding of public protection in the private sector. “The students were really enthusiastic about the opportunity to experience the private sector, get hands-on experience with an auditor in the field, gain new skills and potentially open doors for future employment,” said Holmes. “University staff were also really positive about us as an employer and we are all really excited about the possibilities of the program, which we are calling Pathway to NSF.” UWE Bristol also allows NSF to use its kitchens for calibration exercises and provides opportunities for personal professional practise experience in areas such as food, housing and environmental protection.
